The poster will present the
results of the on-going research to develop architectural framework for
Cloud Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) provisioning model. Cloud
technologies are emerging as infrastructure services for provisioning
computing and storage resources on-demand, and gradually evolving into
the combined network and IT resources provisioning that are capable of
supporting complex technological processes, scientific experiments, and
collaborative groups of researchers and applications. The poster will
present the general e-Science usecase that requires complex
infrastructure to support distributed collaborating groups of
researchers. Such collaborative infrastructure will typically include
campus network, permanent Grid infrastructure and Cloud infrastructure
that should be provisioned on-demand. The poster will explain the
proposed architectural framework for Cloud Infrastructure as a Service
(IaaS) provisioning model that comprises of the three main components:
the Composable Services Architecture (CSA) that intends to provide a
conceptual and methodological framework for developing dynamically
configurable virtualised infrastructure services; the Infrastructure
Services Modeling Framework (ISMF) that provides a basis for the
infrastructure resources virtualisation and management, including
description, discovery, modeling, composition and monitoring; and the
Service Delivery Framework (SDF) that provides a basis for defining the
whole composable services life cycle management and supporting
infrastructure services. The poster will provide the
implementation suggestions for the defined architectural components and
will refer to the ongoing developments in the contributing projects
GEANT3 Composable Services, GEYSERS, and NOVI.
